Moving on to 2014 SMO (Junior) Round 1

That’s the last of my posts on the 2014 AMC 12. Hope that you have enjoyed the posts so far!

The next series of posts will go through some of the more interesting questions from the first round of the 2014 Singapore Math Olympiad (Junior Section). Meant for students in Sec 1 & 2 (Grades 7 & 8), the SMO (Junior) Round 1 is a 2.5 hour long competition with 10 multiple-choice questions and 25 short questions, where only the final numeric result is required. Each question carries 1 mark, with no penalty for wrong answers. The top 10% of participants from the 1st round will be invited to attend the 2nd round of the competition. (More information on the SMO is available at this link.)

The problems are available at this link. Happy solving!
